"Like probably most people we were caught in playing the game of finding cheaper automobile insurance. AAA and Geico raised our rates these past few years without us even using our insurance and had no incidents, accidents, or tickets of any kind. We called State Farm in Barre and Nicole was very helpful, so helpful that we also included our home insurance to further benefit from discounts. I'm not also thinking of switching my motorcycle insurance as well and just have everything under State Farm. Working with someone local helps so much and she clearly is knowledgeable and so helpful. Never thought it'd actually feel good switching insurance companies!"

"Bob must have a difficult time finding decent employees. He once had a wonderful representative named Lucy. For eight years I had no problems. Since she retired, my experiences have been negative. My only claim after decades as a state farm customer, had a negative outcome and I was not given any information during the process. After a lengthy conversation with one current representative, she said, unprompted, that she hated people moving here from out of state. Among other complaints, she blamed "flatlanders" for high housing costs in Vermont. Newsflash: Buyers do not determine the market value nor do they control your local neighbor's decision to not sell their homes below market value. It is widely known that real estate prices have risen dramatically nationwide because private investment firms such as Vanguard, Black Rock, and State Street are out-bidding families buying homes and driving up the cost for everyone across the country. Tribalism and ignorant bigotry, blaming all of the problems in VT (and the country) on "the other"...the newcomer...is not professional, respectful behavior that will retain customers. It works against a business owner's best interest to make such ugly, baseless comments to customers who moved to this beautiful state with love in our hearts, devoted to supporting locally owned businesses. Why would we remain with people who hate us for something we have no control over? I felt sorry for an adult woman with such a myopic misunderstanding of economics and who obviously does not read the national news. It was hurtful, but I just let it slide. It did, however, make me wonder if she would give us adequate insurance coverage since the location of our previous State Farm policy clearly shows in their records that we also moved from another state. It sounded like passive aggression and left me feeling uneasy. The next call was approximately 6 months later. I received an email from the staff stating they wanted me to pay online now and gave me a phone number to set up an online account. After calling the number they provided me with, a recorded message explained that State Farm now sells customer's private information. I then called Bartlett's office, expressing that I don't want my private information sold and asked if she could help me opt out, as was also stated on the recording. The representative, who I have never met in person, interrupted with personal insults, scoffing and chuckling. It was such bizarre behavior that I asked if I called the wrong number. It is obvious that the current staff shares an ingrained insular bigotry toward people who were not born within the state boundaries. I have never had a problem with Bob himself, but after 8 years as his loyal, reliable customer, I can no longer do business with people who are behave so unprofessionally. No one gets to choose where they are born. I tried to contact Bob, but the toxic employee would not allow me speak to him. I sent him an email, but I doubt he will ever receive it. The only way Bob will understand what drove his long=time customer away, is by leaving a review for Bob to read. If Bob is interested, I will share with him the names of the two women on his staff who treated a decades-long State Farm customer so poorly. I also called corporate headquarters to end my decades long account with the national firm. The national rep agreed that their behavior is unacceptable. She shared with me her own experiences."

"When my current auto insurance was coming due, I wanted to “shop local” to see if I could get a better rate. My first (and last) call was to Bob Bartlett’s State Farm which fit the bill. Nicole was able to quote me a good price for my newish car and was even able to offer me a better price if I bundled my condo insurance in with the deal. I was quite satisfied and saved money for the same coverage. Certainly appreciated going local!"

"This wasn't my most local state farm agent but came highly recommended to me from a mutual friend. This office has lived up to the billing. Always responsive always coming in with competence(most often cheapest) pricing around.
